Kurt is the Founder & CIO of TownSquare Capital. With nearly 25 years of capital markets experience, Kurt has managed traditional equity and fixed income portfolios for Fortune 500 companies, hedge funds, university endowments, Taft Harley plans, bank trust portfolios, and individual retirement accounts. Prior to forming TownSquare, Kurt was a principal at Alta Capital, a high-quality growth equity manager.
During his 12 years with Alta, Kurt helped grow the firm’s assets under management from $300 million to over $3 billion. Kurt has a passion for Impact Investing. In addition to co-founding MicroBenefits China—a for-profit, employee engagement platform for factory workers in China—he is on the Founder’s Board of the Ballard Center for Economic Self Reliance at Brigham Young University. Kurt studied Finance and Economics at BYU where he currently serves as an adjunct professor
